To make this happen we will need to build a stage, find folks to run sound and manage the show, keep the kids (and adults) busy with games or activities direct traffic if needed, and break down and clean up once it's over.

The Stage 2022

This year our stage will be provided by Jeff Sloan.

He'll need some help loading and unloading and setting it up, so please volunteer if you can.

The Stage Builders

Our stage last year (2021) was built on site by volunteers.

Many thanks to Mike Miller, Robert Madrid, Wayne Nash, Chris Eakes, Elektric Dave, Dave Bingtson, and others who pitched in.

Ready to go in the misty morning, complete with two drum risers!

The following was posted for last year. Updates for 2022 above.

We need help building a suitable stage. At a minimum we should build a drum riser and cover the remaining stage area with plywood as a stable platform for musicians to stand on wile performing.

We can begin building the stage on Thursday morning the day before the party. You may camp overnight if you wish to help.

In addition to a few carpenters, we need plywood, 2x4's, 2x6's, screws, tools, and possibly some patio blocks or pave stones to level things out. Contribute if you can, anything helps. We could even pick something up from the local store if you are short on time.

If we have enough help and plenty of materials we might build a larger stage or a cover to quiet generators. ---It's up to you.

Running Sound

Sound is all important and so it will help if a few folks step up to run the mixer and amps. We should have a PA and monitors in addition to the amps musicians might bring. This is something best left up to folks who know sound already. Musicians need to hear themselves as well as the mix. Drummers need to hear the bass as well as the singers. And what goes out to the audience needs to project evenly without feeding back or interfering with the mix heard on stage.

How we currently stand:

Electric Dave will be bringing a massive sound and light system.

Our Stage Manager is also:
Elektrik Dave

He will be organizing the gear, overseeing sound and helping musicians in getting set up to play then afterwards leaving the stage. He'll let our MC know what's going on and when. If you want a little mic time announcing folks and maybe telling a joke to fill in the time, please voluteer. If you'd like to help run sound for a while or just gopher things, he's the one to contact about it.

While we may keep things loose and go with the flow as it happens, we are attempting to schedule performers. I think we will try to do this in blocks of 45 minutes initially. Perhaps having soloists perform between larger groups. In this way we might be able to maintian a more continuous stream of music as one group leaves the stage and another sets up. ...a quick set up for the soloist coming on in front, with the next act setting up quietly behind them.

Master of Ceremonies
Linda Diaz

Our Coronapalooza Party official primary Master of Ceremonies is Linda Diaz.
A professional comedian, she will communicate with stage people to introduce performers or announcements.

Would you like to help her? Being able to fill in a bit with humor is helpful but not necessary. As music MAY be performed through the whole 24 hours, one person couldn't possibly announce the whole time. Those who have a short humerous story or joke to tell could fit in nicely between acts and add a touch of class to the party.

Games and Activities

Two days is a long time to just sit and listen, especially for kids. So it wouold be really sweet if folks brought some games etc. A few crayons and paper? Horseshoes? A soccer ball? Maybe a board game or chess set or some playing cards? Lot's of room for throwing Frisbies too if anyone cares to bring one.

And with anything like this including children, it might be super if a few parents volunteered to oversee some of it and prevcent or settle any disputes or referee. Maybe participae in doing some crafts with the kids

This could give mom and dad or grandparents a few moments to relax and enjoy other aspects of the party.

Dave said he'd bring a badminton set and possibly a bean bag toss.
I could bring a chess set and a ream of paper.

Traffic Direction

Not sure if we will really need to direct traffic coming in, but it would be nice if someone volunteered in this respect. Someone to tell folks where to park or set up their tents and answer questions about what's going on, and where.

Maybe my nephew James will help out in this respect along with performing and building the stage? ---Want to help him?

Clean up Crew

It would be very cool if there wasn't any clean up to do. So we are asking for volunteers to pick up any litter and make sure the place is as pristine when we leave as it was before we arrived. We may also need some help taking down the stage or packing things up.

Maybe James will help out in this respect too?
